Our ginger syrup might be the most versatile of the Kilimanjaro Foods line of gourmet sauces. A perfect blend of ginger root, sugar and other flavors, it adds a spicy-sweet zest to any food or drink.

The unique taste Sunrise Ginger Syrup offers can be used to enhance chicken, beef, shrimp and other meats, fruit, ice cream, tea, champagne, and more. The spicy nip of ginger root is masterfully balanced by sweetness to offer a delightful flavoring that everyone from children to adults will enjoy.

Below are just a few of the delicious and creative uses we've come up with for this versatile syrup:

Ginger Tea:

Add 1/4 cup (you can add more or less depending on preference) of Kilimanjaro's Sunrise Ginger Syrup to 3/4 cup of your favorite tea. The spicy sweetness of the syrup adds a refreshing twist to iced tea while bringing a warm coziness to hot tea on a cold winter's day.


Glazed Carrots:

1 pound of baby carrots
2 tbsp butter
1/4 cup Sunrise Ginger Syrup

Blanch carrots and combine all ingredients and simmer for 2 minutes. Salt and pepper to taste.



Strawberry Ginger Smoothie:

1/2 cup Soy Milk or Skim Milk

1/2 Banana

3 Strawberries

3 oz Ginger Syrup

1/3 cup crushed ice (about 3 cubes)

Blend all ingredients together until smooth.


Fruit Compote with Ginger Syrup:


Ingredients:
1 cup Strawberries
I cup Blueberries
1/2 cup Sunrise Ginger Syrup
1/8 tsp salt
2 tbsp cold water
1 tbsp corn starch

Directions:

Cook the berries and syrup over low for 3 minutes. Mix corn starch and water together to form a slurry and stir into berries and simmer for 30 seconds.
Chill and serve.
Try serving over short cake, pound cake or ice cream.
